Compare material configurations
Align composition, structure, GSM, width, colour and any special treatment. Comparing Spunbond and a laminate without considering function can be misleading. Ask for differences to be explained so technical teams can assess alternatives.
Convert to the same unit
Theoretical cost per square metre equals price/kg × GSM ÷ 1,000. Multiply this by width in metres for the cost per linear metre. This excludes cutting waste, cores, packing and other charges unless already included in the quoted price.
Include width and cutting waste
A width suited to the cutting plan can reduce offcuts. Where possible, compare material cost per acceptable component or bag, not just the purchase unit. Purchased area and usable finished-product area may differ.
State quantity, colour and packing clearly
Several colours, widths or variants can differ from a single uniform order. Keep the specification constant when requesting quantity scenarios. State whether deliveries are split and whether each pack needs its own identification.
Compare total cost to the receiving point
Check tax, transport, packing, sample charges and printing setup where applicable. Record validity and payment conditions. Do not fill gaps with assumptions; clarify exclusions before approving the purchase.
Why there is no single universal price
A price without a specification can mislead. Send material type, quantity, width, GSM and destination for a relevant quotation. If these are unknown, begin with an application and sample; a reference price is not an order commitment.
